LIVE AT THE GROEVERIJ LP Last December, I played a concert at a record store (de Groeverij) in Houten, the Netherlands. The show was recorded, and now there’s a live LP of it. 7 songs (2 of them around 10 minutes long), in a limited edition of 100 copies. I released 2 of those songs as B-sides to Ghost. “River” from the upcoming album LAKES.
I wrote River in Hong Kong 10 years ago, during the protests for freedom and against mainland China's rule.
It was powerful to witness — both inspiring and heartbreaking, because deep down, everyone knew it was hopeless.
I remember my friend shivering and tearing up.
Now, 10 years later, the highways are once again filled with people.
And again… it looks like a river.
Now 10 years later highways fill with people again. And again it looks like a river.
